Mrs. Sefzik is a Kentucky native who earned her degree in Business Communications. She has been a full-time event coordinator and small business owner. After marrying her husband, George, who is a pilot in the US Air Force, they traveled around the country everywhere the Air Force sent them. They currently reside in Northern Virginia with their 5 children, who are ages 2-12.
Mrs. Sefzik began as a very reluctant homeschool mom eight years ago. In fact, when the Lord first called her to homeschool, she described it as “running like Jonah to Tarshish.” However, once she chose to obey His calling, she has never looked back. Wendy now has eyes to see the beauty and blessings the Lord had in mind when He called her to homeschooling. Still deep in the trenches herself, Wendy desires to encourage parents and equip students to follow the Lord’s leading.
Mrs. Sefzik has been a Foundations/ Essential Director and Essentials tutor for Classical Conversations. A life-long student herself, Wendy is currently enrolled in the CiRCE Apprenticeship program to study classical teaching in depth.
Her goal as a teacher is to inspire students to love God, love learning, and to see Him with wonder in the world around them. She enjoys reading, hiking, paddle boarding, traveling, and raising her 5 blessings alongside her husband. God is good all the time.
This year at STARS, Mrs. Sefzik has the privilege to teach IEW Level B for 4-7 graders and Lost Tools of Writing Level 1 for 6-8 grade.
